I Heart Tony
Having Tony around for holidays was nice, Veronica thought, carrying a small heart-shaped box of candy toward the door at the rear of the house.
She’d had boyfriend trouble, and Tony was no different; wonderful to start, then abusive, first with his mouth, then his fists. But they’d worked things out.
Veronica opened the door, stepped into the garage and opened the lid on a big freezer, revealing Tony’s corpse. She fitted the heart-shaped box into the hole in Tony’s chest and kissed his frosty lips. She smiled, licking moisture from her mouth.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, baby.”
